Santos change over 60% of starters since first-leg draw with Ceará

Santos faces off against Ceará this Sunday, in the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship. Santos arrives with a significantly altered team compared to the first round match. Over 60% of the starters have been changed.

On May 12, in a match held at Allianz Parque, Cleber Xavier, then coach of Alvinegro Praiano, fielded: Gabriel Brazão; Aderlan (Leo Godoy), Zé Ivaldo, Luan Peres and Escobar; Tomás Rincón (Zé Rafael), Gabriel Bontempo (Deivid Washington) and Rollheiser; Thaciano (Barreal), Soteldo and Tiquinho Soares (Gabriel Veron).

During the match, Leo Godoy (replacing Aderlan), Zé Rafael (Tomás Rincón), Deivid Washington (replacing Bontempo), Barreal (replacing Thaciano) and Gabriel Veron (replacing Tiquinho) entered the game.

The score ended 0 to 0, to the frustration of the 35,240 present at the Palmeiras stadium.

What has changed?

Since then, much has changed at Santos, starting with the coaching staff, which is now led by Juan Pablo Vojvoda. And the Argentine has significantly altered the starting team.

Of those who started the first round match, only four remain in the lineup: Gabriel Brazão, Luan Peres, Escobar and Rollheiser.

With this new squad, therefore, Alvinegro Praiano hopes to achieve a better result against Ceará. The match will be at Arena Castelão, this Sunday, at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), for the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship.
