Santos climb to 10th as Paulistão 2026 round seven wraps up

According to Diario Do Peixe, the seventh round of the 2026 Paulistão concluded on Sunday.
Santos won 2-1 away to Noroeste in Bauru, climbed to 10th on nine points, are no longer at risk of relegation and still have a chance to reach the quarter-finals.
The top four are assured of quarter-final places, with Novorizontino on 16 points leading Palmeiras on 15, Red Bull Bragantino on 13 and Portuguesa on 12. Four further spots remain open.
Ponte Preta were relegated to Série A-2 after Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Portuguesa. Velo Clube, Santos' next opponents, sit in the drop zone on five points and will need a win at the Vila to avoid relegation.
The round produced 17 goals, an average of 2.12 per match. Home sides won four times, away teams won three, with one draw.
Results: Portuguesa 2-0 Ponte Preta, Guarani 0-2 Botafogo, Novorizontino 2-1 São Bernardo, São Paulo 2-1 Primavera, Noroeste 1-2 Santos, Capivariano 1-0 Mirassol, Velo Clube 1-1 Red Bull Bragantino, Corinthians 0-1 Palmeiras.
