Santos ended 2025 with debt close to R$ one billion and revenue of R$ 678.5 million, as councillors prepare to vote on the accounts on Monday at Vila Belmiro.

According to Globo.com, the financial statement shows total liabilities of R$ 998.5 million. More than R$ 470 million is due within 12 months, while medium and long-term obligations exceed R$ 761 million.

There is also R$ 233.4 million in deferred revenue, treated as a performance obligation and excluded from the debt calculation.

Income was boosted by improved TV deals and a membership programme that generated R$ 50 million. Player sales brought in R$ 188.5 million against a budget of R$ 100.3 million. Overall revenue finished 60 percent above a budget set at more than R$ 423 million.

The club posted a deficit of R$ 79.3 million, better than the R$ 89.5 million shortfall forecast. The Fiscal Council expressed concern and urged tighter cost control, firmer debt management and medium and long-term sustainability, particularly given reliance on extraordinary income such as player trading. It nonetheless unanimously recommended approving Marcelo Teixeira’s accounts, citing an independent audit.

Councillors received the council’s opinion on Thursday night and will review the numbers in the coming days.
