Santos supporter Clayton Aleixo, known online as “Santista Maluco”, has gone 214 days without a haircut, pledging not to cut it until the club win five games in a row. The pledge echoes a viral Manchester United fan challenge.

“I had the idea on 16 July while watching TikTok. A Santos fan did it for four matches and I decided to copy it,” he told Diario Do Peixe.

Santos were close in January after four straight wins across late 2025 and early 2026, with the clássico against Palmeiras in the Campeonato Paulista offering a possible fifth. They lost 1-0.

He remains upbeat even if the wait passes 300 days. “With the run of games, I think it will come, it might go past 300 days. I never lose hope in my team, and anyone who follows football knows it is unpredictable,” he said.

The interview took place before the 6-0 win over Velo Clube, which could spark a fresh run. Next are Novorizontino in the Paulistão quarter-finals, then Vasco in the Campeonato Brasileiro, and, if they progress, a semi-final.

If they win those three games, it would revive hopes of a fifth successive victory and secure a place in the 2026 Campeonato Paulista final.

Santos have not managed five consecutive wins since 28 July 2019, 2,395 days ago. Among Série A clubs only Chapecoense, at 3,243 days, have a longer wait.
