Santos fined for delays against Palmeiras in Copa do Brasil and Cruzeiro in Brasileirão | OneFootball

Santos have been hit with two fines by the STJD this week for delays against Palmeiras and Cruzeiro, totalling R$ 7,000.

According to Diario Do Peixe, on Monday 14 the First Disciplinary Commission fined Santos R$ 5,000 after the goalless Copa do Brasil quarter-final second leg with Palmeiras at Vila Belmiro on 2 September kicked off late. Under Article 206 of the CBJD, the team delayed six minutes, referee Davi de Oliveira Lacerda recorded five, and Série A clubs are docked R$ 1,000 per minute.

On Thursday 17 the Seventh Disciplinary Commission issued a R$ 2,000 fine for a late restart in the 2-1 win over Cruzeiro at Vila Belmiro in the 27th round on Saturday 12. Also under Article 206, the delay was three minutes, with referee Bruno Arleu de Araújo noting two.

The match delegate said 42 children accompanied the home team, while the defence, via Dr Marcelo, provided a photo showing 38. Santos were cited under Article 191, clause III, based on item 4.2.7.1, which permits a maximum of 44 children, 22 per side, aged over five and up to 12. As Cruzeiro did not enter with children, the panel converted a proposed R$ 5,000 fine into a warning.

Santos’ fines this year now total R$ 81,000 across the Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil. Other rulings included R$ 8,000 for objects thrown against Atlético-MG, a R$ 15,000 penalty after a fan spat at Mirassol’s Reinaldo, a warning for goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão over remarks about referee Raphael Claus, and a one-match ban for Gabriel Barbosa for an obscene gesture against Vitória.
