Santos in talks to sign Flamengo forward Michael

Santos are negotiating to sign Flamengo forward Michael, with conversations between the clubs and no agreement yet on the structure.

Behind the scenes, Santos consider the deal difficult. Michael is an alternative to Rony, whose exit from Atlético-MG is complicated because coach Jorge Sampaoli wants to keep the 30-year-old. Lucas Musetti reports the interest.

The club are seeking a replacement for Guilherme, sold to Houston Dynamo in the USA. The difficulty stems from Flamengo's current stance on Michael.

Flamengo would accept a loan provided Santos pay 100% of his wages. The 29-year-old earns close to R$ 2 million per month.

So far Santos have extended Neymar's contract and brought in Gabigol on loan. They have also moved towards a loan for midfielder Gabriel Menino to replace Victor Hugo, who was sold by Flamengo to Atlético-MG.
