Neymar’s creativity proved decisive as Santos beat Remo, supplying a superb pass for Thaciano and sparking the move that led to Moisés scoring. According to Globo.com, he received a 7.5 in their player ratings.
Thaciano opened the scoring, finding space to convert after Neymar’s incisive ball. Later, Cuca replaced Barreal with Moisés, who added the second.
Goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão, rated 6.0, had little to do, though one spilled long-range effort from Gabriel Taliari caused a scare before Lucas Veríssimo cleared. Veríssimo and Luan Peres both earned 6.5 for assured defending on the ground and in the air.
Remo focused their attacks down Santos’ left, leaving Escobar busier against Alef Manga, while Igor Vinícius struggled in the final third. Escobar atoned with the assist for Moisés. Oliva, 6.0, was solid out of possession but offered limited creation, and Gustavo Henrique mixed ball-winning with a dangerous giveaway that went unpunished.
Moisés impressed again with a 7.0 from the bench. Thaciano received 7.0 for his movement and finish, with Willian Arão adding a secure late shift at 6.0. Robinho Jr. and João Schmidt played too briefly to rate, and Barreal disappointed at 4.5 after failing to connect with Neymar on the left.
Head coach Cuca was given 6.5, keeping the core that drew with Cruzeiro and trusting Neymar and Thaciano for the opener, before the switch that led to Moisés scoring the second.
