Santos’ Sereias da Vila sign defender Isa Cardoso until the end of the season

Santos’ Sereias da Vila have signed defender Isa Cardoso until the end of the season. According to Diario Do Peixe, the 28-year-old is their eighth arrival, following Taty Amaro, Mayara, Katrine, Leticia Santos, Yoreli Rincón, Vivian and Eudimilla.
She joins from Nacional in Uruguay, where she featured in the most recent Conmebol Libertadores. A Campinas native, Isabela Martins Cardoso began playing at eight and moved to US college football at 18 with FNU Conquistadors and Northern Michigan University.
On returning to Brazil, she spent two seasons with Athletico Paranaense before heading to Nacional in 2025, winning the Uruguayan championship.
Cardoso described Santos as a giant club with a proud history, adding that her first week has been very positive. She spoke of responsibility, aiming to work hard, evolve with the group and enjoy each day in the shirt.
Head coach Caio Couto has renewed and, with coordinator Thais Picarte, shaped the squad, with more than 15 contract renewals. Players already on longer deals who remain are Pardal, Ingrid Avancini, Rafa Martins, Leandra, Nath Pitbull, Giulia Giovanna and Thaisinha.
Extensions include Stefane, Michelle, Ana Alice, Sara, Evellyn, Larissa Vasconcelos, Carol Lara, Barbara Cuzzuol, Adrielly, Suzane Pires, Rafa Andrade, Ana Barboza, Analuyza, Carol Baiana, Laryh, Ketlen, Samara and Cury. Departures are Ágatha, Aghata, Karen Hipólito, Raissa Calheiros, Livia Mathias, Leidiane, Júlia Daltoé and Marussi. Santos return to Brazil's top flight and will also play the state competition and Copa do Brasil. The Brasileirão A1 is scheduled from 15 February to 4 October, the Copa do Brasil from 22 April to 15 November.
