Santos ‘to loan’ JP Chermont to Coritiba

Santos moved on Friday to advance a loan move for right-back JP Chermont to Coritiba.

Canal do Lucas Musetti reports that the academy product is set to sign a deal running until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has struggled for minutes under Juan Pablo Vojvoda, and a switch to Coritiba is aimed at securing game time.

A regular starter for much of the 2024 Série B campaign, he later lost his place last year and returned to the under-20s.

This year he featured for Santos in the Copa São Paulo and hoped to regain a role with the senior team. The coaching staff have instead preferred Igor Vinicius and Mayke, both more experienced arrivals last year.

He is expected to arrive in Curitiba in the coming days to undergo medical tests and finalise the move.
