According to Diario Do Peixe, referee Rafael Rodrigo Klein’s match report from Santos’ 1-0 win over Atlético-MG at Vila Belmiro details crowd incidents, delays and the reasons for Cuca’s dismissal. The document could trigger three complaints to the STJD.
At 21 minutes of the first half, a cardboard ball was thrown from the Santos end and struck assistant referee number two, Tiago Augusto Kappes Diel, on his left thigh.
Two minutes later Klein sent off Santos coach Alexi Stival, known as Cuca, for persistent dissent after Gabigol’s disallowed goal, including pointing a finger at the referee. After the red card, Klein recorded that Cuca called the officials bananas and said Traci was not reliable before leaving the pitch.
Klein also noted a four minute delay to kick-off because Santos arrived five minutes late for the entry protocol. The second half restart was delayed by four minutes, with Santos four minutes late and Atlético-MG three minutes late.
After the final whistle, as the officials headed to the tunnel, a plastic cup containing liquid and an ice cube were thrown from the organised Santos section. No member of the officiating team was hit.
Based on the report, Santos could face charges under CBJD article 213 III for objects thrown, carrying fines from R$100 to R$100,000. Delays fall under article 206, with fines of R$100 to R$1,000 per minute. Cuca’s conduct fits article 258 II, which provides suspension of one to six matches for athletes, coaches, doctors or staff, and 15 to 180 days for others.
