🤯 São Caetano, Liberta and BR runners-up, lose 12-0 in Copa Paulista

Runners-up in the Copa Libertadores in 2002 and in the Brasileirão in 2000 and 2001, São Caetano have not enjoyed glory days for a long time now.

And they confirmed a major embarrassment last Saturday (5).

After losing 5-0 in the first leg, Azulão then watched Primavera win 7-0 to seal qualification for the Copa Paulista quarterfinals in front of their home fans.

Special mention goes to forward Kauan Cunha, who was coming off a hat-trick and scored another FIVE goals in the tie, which ended 12-0 on aggregate in favor of the team from Indaiatuba.

It was the end of a season that had started promisingly, as São Caetano posted the second-best record in the first phase of Série A4, the fourth division of the Paulista Championship.

They reached the semifinals but were knocked out by Penapolense, missing out on promotion to A3.

Meanwhile, their Copa Paulista campaign was poor from the start, as Azulão picked up only two points in six rounds.

Their place in the "play-in" for a quarterfinal spot only happened because Santo André were docked ten points for fielding an ineligible player.
