São Paulo 3 points from G7 and Libertadores after Vasco win

São Paulo did well in this 31st round of the Brasileirão. In addition to, of course, doing their part and winning their first ‘final’ in the quest for a Libertadores spot, against Vasco, they also benefited from stumbles by other direct rivals in the race for the much-desired qualification.

Now, with the G7 granting a spot, Tricolor has climbed to 8th place and is just three points behind 7th-placed Fluminense. 6th-placed Botafogo also slipped up.
