Corinthians are close to taking São Paulo midfielder Alisson on loan, with the move dependent on an initial payment and a later instalment, and it could be finalised as early as Monday.

"If they pay us R$ 1 million now for the loan and another R$ 500 thousand later, I think in October or November, he will spend this season at Corinthians. Until that payment is made, he is a São Paulo player. For now, nothing is final. Tomorrow, Monday, we will see if the money hits the account," interim president Harry Massis told Record TV.

"It was a very good deal for São Paulo. It will be a one-year loan worth R$ 1.5 million in total. If he reaches 25 matches, playing at least half a game, Corinthians will have to pay a further €250 thousand. If Corinthians want to use him against São Paulo, they will have to pay another R$ 2 million. He is very close to Dorival and no longer wants to play for São Paulo."

Corinthians initially explored a player exchange, but that was rejected and São Paulo insisted on a paid loan.

If the transfer is completed, Alisson would be ineligible for the Campeonato Paulista under FPF rules, and available only for the Campeonato Brasileiro, Supercopa do Brasil, Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brasil.

He would become Corinthians’ fourth addition of 2026 after Gabriel Paulista, Matheus Pereira and Uruguay right-back Pedro Milans. Last season the 32-year-old made 52 appearances, scoring one goal with two assists, and he was a trusted option for Dorival Júnior during São Paulo’s 2023 Copa do Brasil triumph.
