According to Globo.com, São Paulo’s Civil Police have identified four individuals over graffiti on the walls of Palmeiras’ social headquarters. The vandalism followed Tuesday’s heavy defeat and the club intends to sue.
The club lodged a police report. Officers named the alleged offenders as Paulo Sérgio Goes De Oliveira, Murilo Landim Baldi, Murylo Mikael Santos and Deivison Correia Carvalho.
Palmeiras will sue for the offence of defacing buildings or urban monuments. Club president Leila Pereira will also bring slander and defamation cases after one message accused her of theft.
Other graffiti targeted Abel and the club’s planning, asking if the magic had gone, referenced 2025, and included the term SPAlmeiras.
One of those identified, Deivison Correia Carvalho, has previously been arrested for involvement in organised supporters’ fights.
The incident came after Palmeiras lost by a four-goal margin for the first time in almost 11 years. The previous occasion was a 5-1 defeat to Chapecoense on 4 October 2015.
