São Paulo’s public prosecutor’s office has added Corinthians president Osmar Stabile to a criminal inquiry into an allegedly irregular security contract registered in the name of a club employee. According to Globo.com, the deal was worth R$ 676,600.
The document cites two grounds for his inclusion. First is testimony from former administrative director Fábio Soares, who is said to have told prosecutors the emergency hire was ordered by the president.
The second is the finding that Fernando José da Silva, owner of the company, was also employed by Corinthians at the time the contract was signed.
Investigators also noted a contradiction. On 23 May 2026, Fernando signed a letter to the Military Police requesting an escort for the Corinthians delegation in the Conmebol Libertadores, identifying himself as the club’s operational manager.
That conflicts with information the club provided to prosecutors, stating he worked there only between September and October 2025.
Stabile will be heard to provide explanations and submit his defence. The interview is scheduled for 23 June at 11:15.
