São Paulo’s public prosecutors have charged three former leaders of Palmeiras’ Mancha Alviverde over threats to Leila Pereira. According to Globo.com, the case stems from a June 2023 protest and has moved forward three years on.

Jorge Luis Sampaio Santos, Felipe Mattos dos Santos, known as “Fezinho”, and Thiago Amorim de Melo, “Pato Roko”, led a demonstration at the headquarters of Crefisa, Pereira’s company. Then the president and vice-presidents of the supporters’ group, they blocked access and caused disorder amid a rift with the club’s hierarchy.

In the complaint, prosecutors concluded the protest aimed to intimidate the Palmeiras president during that dispute. The document also cites other instances, including threats directed at Pereira on social media.

The trio have been charged under article 147, which punishes anyone who threatens another by word, writing, gesture or other symbolic means. Prosecutors are also seeking an award for moral and material damages.

Before filing the case, prosecutors ruled out a non-prosecution deal, which typically involves community service or a fine, as the three are in preventive custody and do not qualify as first-time defendants.

Jorge, Felipe and Thiago are being held over a clash between Mancha Alviverde and Cruzeiro’s Máfia Azul. In October 2024, the Palmeiras group prepared an ambush on the Fernão Dias highway near Mairiporã, where one person died and more than 10 were injured.
