São Paulo prosecutors open probe into Corinthians’ Fatal Fans sponsorship and child safety | OneFootball

The São Paulo public prosecutor has opened an inquiry into whether Corinthians’ Fatal Fans sponsorship risks or infringes the rights of children and adolescents.

A document signed last Wednesday by prosecutor Santiago Miguel Nakano Perez names the club and FF Tecnologia Ltda as subjects, and UOL first reported it.

The probe will gauge the brand’s reach at Corinthians, including men’s football shorts, basketball and futsal kits, and any youth-facing activities.

An urgent technical analysis will examine how the platform works and which tools restrict underage access, with Caex technicians entering the restricted area, preserving data and reporting back.

Investigators will review the club’s official channels and consult the ANPD on any oversight of Fatal Fans or its operator.

Age checks are a key focus, and information suggests the service apparently only asks users to declare they are over 18. Prosecutors say there is no proof of a secure, specific verification and have sought clarifications.

The company must supply safety assessments, risk analyses, child-protection mechanisms, and the full sponsorship contract with related plans and clauses.

Fatal Fans now has 15 days to respond, while Corinthians has 10 extra days from access to the case file.

Signed on 28 June, the deal is worth R$ 22 million to December 2027, or R$ 31 million if renewed. Part cleared a FIFA transfer ban, and the sponsor’s backing could help the club resume talks with Memphis Depay on a possible renewal.
