São Paulo ‘to host’ Corinthians at Vila Belmiro after Morumbis BTS clash | OneFootball

Vila Belmiro is set to stage São Paulo’s home derby with Corinthians in the 34th round of the Brasileirão, in the first week of November, with dates still to be confirmed by the CBF.

Diário do Peixe reports that Santos are in advanced talks with the São Paulo board and view the loan of the stadium as close to agreement.

Morumbis will be unavailable because BTS perform there on 28, 30 and 31 October.

For that window, São Paulo have Vila Belmiro as the only viable alternative. Bragança Paulista will host Red Bull Bragantino v Santos in the same round, which rules out Dorival Júnior’s team moving to the interior.

As a reciprocal gesture, Santos are expected to be the home side at Morumbis in one Brasileirão match, although the club have not yet chosen which fixture in the capital.

Stadium options are further limited by the CBF’s requirement for the semi-automatic offside system in Brasileirão games. Only Série A venues have that setup, which vetoes other grounds such as Brinco de Ouro in Campinas.
