São Paulo have dismissed head coach Hernán Crespo as the state season ends and the Brasileirão begins.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the club have identified Filipe Luís and Roger Machado as options, and after sounding out the former Flamengo boss they were told he has no interest in working in Brazil in 2026.

Filipe Luís had been in charge of Flamengo since late 2024 but was sacked on Tuesday, despite securing a place in the Campeonato Carioca final.

Flamengo, now led by Leonardo Jardim, won the Campeonato Carioca on Sunday, beating Fluminense 5-4 on penalties in the Portuguese coach’s debut.

São Paulo had started the league campaign well but have been dealing with internal instability.
