Sarina Wiegman has led England to the final of the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship after a dramatic semi-final win over Italy.
The Lionesses levelled in the 96th minute of normal time through teenage striker Michelle Agyemang to keep their defence of the trophy alive, before Chloe Kelly struck the decider just one minute from the end of extra time.
Wiegman will now attempt to win an incredible third straight Euros title as a manager, continuing an incredible record of reaching major tournament deciders.

Vivianne Miedema was on target twice for the the Oranje.
Two years later, the Netherlands progressed to the 2019 World Cup final. Wiegman’s side eliminated Japan, Italy and Sweden in the knockout rounds, before falling short in the decider.
The USA claimed their fourth World Cup title, courtesy of goals from Megan Rapindoe and Rose Lavelle.
Wiegman took charge of England in September 2021, replacing Phil Neville as head coach. Her first tournament saw England host the European Championship and ended in a historic triumph.
The Lionesses won their first major tournament after beating eight-time champions Germany at Wembley. Substitute Chloe Kelly scored an extra-time winner in front of a packed stadium to seal success.
Just as she had done with the Netherlands, Wiegman followed winning the European Championship by reaching the World Cup final.
However, again Wiegman’s side agonisingly fell short. A 1-0 defeat to Spain ended English hopes of becoming world champions.
Wiegman will lead her side into a third consecutive European Championship final when England face either Germany or Spain in the decider.
The Lionesses have shown fighting spirit to reach the final, squeezing past Sweden in a quarter-final shootout that incredibly saw nine penalties missed.
Wiegman’s side were forced to dig deep again in the last four as Agyemang kept alive their title defence in the dying seconds.
Euro 2022 final hero Chloe Kelly then added to her big-game reputation with a memorable winner, as Wiegman reached a fifth straight tournament final.
