Sassuolo in talks to sign Marseille’s Darryl Bakola | OneFootball

Heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, Olympique de Marseille’s Darryl Bakola (18) could instead be set for a move across the Alps, as per a report from Foot Mercato.

Bakola is seen as one of the most promising prospects to have risen from Marseille’s academy in recent times, however, having made a breakthrough this season, his game time remains limited. He has played 13 games in all competitions, even starting in Marseille’s UEFA Champions League win over Newcastle United, but across those 13 appearances, he has accumulated just over 400 minutes of game time.

Frustrated by this lack of game time, he has yet to sign a contract extension with OM and a departure is possible before the closure of the transfer window. As reported by Foot Mercato last month, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in Bakola, who could instead be set for a switch to Sassuolo. Foot Mercato understands that talks between OM and the Serie A club are ongoing.
