Foot Mercato reported Sassuolo’s interest in Olympique de Marseille forward Darryl Bakola (18) earlier on Friday. Fabrizio Romano now reports that the Italian club have agreed on a fee for the Frenchman.

Bakola is seen as one of the most promising prospects to have risen from Marseille’s academy in recent times, however, having made a breakthrough this season, his game time remains limited. He has played 13 games in all competitions, even starting in Marseille’s UEFA Champions League win over Newcastle United, but across those 13 appearances, he has accumulated just over 400 minutes of game time.

Frustrated by this lack of game time, he has yet to sign a contract extension with OM. Amid this standoff, there had been links with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Chelsea both touted as suitors.

However, he now instead looks set to join Sassuolo, with Romano reporting that an agreement between the clubs has been reached. The value of the transfer is €10m.
