Sassuolo ‘to move’ for Manuel Lazzari as Lazio pursue Andrea Pinamonti | OneFootball

Lazio remain in talks to bring Andrea Pinamonti in on loan with an option to buy, and a separate deal involving Manuel Lazzari is being explored.

La Lazio Siamo Noi reports that Sassuolo are making concrete moves for the 32-year-old right-back, with any agreement kept separate from Pinamonti for budgetary reasons.

The Biancocelesti canvassed several forwards this summer, then focused on Pinamonti after shelving pursuits of Mauro Icardi and Santiago Gimenez, and after Bamba Dieng’s medical setback. The plan under discussion is an initial loan with an option to buy, which would require the 27-year-old to extend his Sassuolo contract, currently up at the end of the season.

Lazzari is considered surplus at Lazio. Adam Marusic, who renewed last season, is Gennaro Gattuso’s first choice at right-back, with Romano Floriani Mussolini providing cover.

Lazzari joined from SPAL in summer 2019. Across seven years he has made 247 appearances, scoring six goals and supplying 19 assists, and, like Pinamonti, he is out of contract at season’s end.
