Rafa Obrador could join Sassuolo on a permanent deal this summer. The 21-year-old recently returned to the Estádio da Luz after a loan with Torino. He could head back to Serie A if terms are agreed.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Obrador is Sassuolo’s leading option on the left, with talks opened with Benfica to understand the conditions. Parma’s Emanuele Valeri is being kept as an alternative if the move does not advance.
A sale would help Benfica trim numbers at left-back, a position Marco Silva is still assessing. After his loan return, the former Real Madrid player’s future remains open and another transfer is on the table.
Sassuolo are also seeking cover on the right. They are evaluating 36-year-old Italy international Matteo Darmian, a free agent after his Inter contract expired.
Negotiations for Obrador remain active and the next few days could be decisive. If an agreement is reached, Benfica could clear a pending file this window and free space for further squad adjustments under Marco Silva.
