Satriano leaves Inter in limbo after Brest rejection

Inter have to find new buyers for unneeded forward Martin Satriano after his decision to refuse a move to Brest, who had already set up a deal.

The 23-year-old Uruguayan striker spent last season on loan with the Ligue 1 side, where he showed some positive signs with six goals and four assists across 36 matches. He returned to the Lombardy capital last month, but it quickly became apparent that he wasn’t part of Simone Inzaghi’s project.

Brest looked to retain Satriano after his loan spell and soon agreed a deal with Inter, willing to pay around €7m for the centre forward, whose contract with the Nerazzurri lasts to June 2027. He has never broken into the first team in Milan, seeing just four first-team appearances.

Satriano rejects Brest

Calciomercato.com details how Satriano decided not to make the move to Brest this summer, giving a clear rejection to any offers, causing the deal with Inter to collapse. A recent last-ditch attempt was made during a meeting at the club’s headquarters, but it was to no avail.

The 23-year-old striker is now training at Interello with the other redundant players, not joining the first team at Appiano Gentile due to a lack of rooms.
