League One

Luton Town v Blackpool, Saturday 15:00: Back Luton Match Odds with 90 mins payout @ 8/13

Tuesday's column saw us hit four from six, but another treble went awry with yet another injury time goal - and four struck us in midweek, hence the 90 mins payout angles for Saturday.

Luton were Huddersfield on Tuesday, but Luton will struggle on the road and the Terriers are on song under Liam Manning, but back on home soil are worthy of their short price this weekend.

Blackpool hold a dreadful away record and have lost nine of their 13 road league games this season (W3 D1), the Seasiders last reached 10 away defeats in a Football League season in fewer games in 1992-93 in the third tier (13th away game).

While short in the market, the 8/13 against Blackpool is fair enough.

Wigan Athletic v Lincoln, Saturday 15:00: Back Lincoln Match Odds with 90 mins payout @ 5/4

I don't see too much reason to deviate from backing Lincoln home or away at the moment - and their currently riding high clocking their seventh win since early December recently.

Lincoln were far too hot for a poor Bradford side in midweek, a performance described as one of the worst Bantams' efforts this season. However, credit must go to a top side and Lincoln ran them ragged and did a bit of a number on them.

Wigan's form is poor and manager Ryan Lowe is under pressure it seems to keep his job with the Latics winning just once since December and are suckered into the lower reaches and a potential relegation fight.

The hosts have won just two of their last eight home league games (D2 L4), netting just three goals and failing to score in five of those matches and backing Lincoln at odds-against is the move here.

Bradford City v Doncaster Rovers, Saturday 15:00: Back Bradford Match Odds with 90 mins payout @ 6/5

It really is not an obvious one to go with Bradford here following a dreadful performance in midweek at Lincoln, but better teams have been seen off by the Imps.

The Bantams worryingly didn't register a shot on target until the 56th minute on Tuesday - their only effort of the night. Their xG on Saturday with a paltry 0.16, one of their lowest ever recorded since 2019.

It's three straight losses now for Graham Alexander's men, but those defeats were against Cardiff, Huddersfield and Lincoln. All three of the heavy-hitters.

Bradford's home record of nine wins and just 12 conceded in 13 games keeps me interested and I will take a scrappy 1-0 here.

League Two

Crewe Alexandra v Colchester, Saturday 15:00: Back Colchester in Match Odds 90 mins payout @ 7/5

Blasted Crewe! A 94th minute equaliser at Bromley was one of the Tuesday bets denied late, and it's the sort of performance and result the Alex are capable of but are way too inconsistent.

For them to back up the draw is not for me, although I do respect they are a lot better at home and are unbeaten in their last eight home league games (W4 D4), both scoring and conceding at least once in all eight of these games.

Colchester have lost just one of their last eight away league games (W4 D3), going down 4-3 at Salford City in December. In fact they have played well on the road against the bigger teams - beating both Walsall and Notts County in November.

With just 15 conceded in 13 matches away, defensively Danny Cowley's men are sound too.

Swindon Town v Barrow, Saturday 15:00: Back Swindon @ 3/4

Swindon's alarming run of three straight losses in the league and one in the FA Cup has seen them drop down to seventh - and are conceding at an average of over two per game.

"That really knocked ten bells out of us," said Ian Holloway after losing 2-1 at Notts County. However, they tried to match the Magpies toe-to-toe and were unlucky not to take something from the game.

Barrow have won just one of their last 13 league games (D4 L8), losing the last three in a row. They last lost four consecutively in April/May 2023 and this looks a good opportunity for Swindon to get back on track.

Crawley Town v Harrogate, Saturday 15:00: Back Crawley @ 8/13

Backing Crawley at odds-on isn't the most appealing, but backing Harrogate at the moment is a far worse prospect, as the Yorkshire club haven't won a League Two match since September.

Simon Weaver's side are bottom and have scored just 20 goals all season. Weaver is less "Dream Weaver" more nightmare.

Crawley Town are unbeaten in their last seven league games against Harrogate (W5 D2), winning each of the last four in a row and for a side that do create chances, Harrogate's defence will likely be prised open here as they do look on the naive side at the back and the hosts do hold their best xG at home at 1.66.
