FC Barcelona are continuing to work on the departure of Marc Casado, with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal currently pushing the hardest in the race to sign the midfielder, according to MARCA.
Casado’s role diminished over the course of last season. With Gavi and Marc Bernal both expected to play a bigger role next season after recovering fully from their injuries, the 22-year-old is unlikely to see his playing time increase under Hansi Flick.
As a result, the club and the player agreed several weeks ago that a transfer would be the best solution. Casado’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has since been tasked with finding the midfielder a new club.
Among the proposals received so far, Al Hilal have made the most attractive offer and are pushing hardest to complete the signing of Casado.

However, the midfielder remains undecided. While he recognises the financial benefits of moving to Saudi Arabia, he is still weighing whether it is the right step for his sporting development.
Despite those doubts, sources suggest he has become increasingly open to the possibility in recent days.
Saudi Arabia is not Casado’s only option. Several European clubs continue to monitor his situation, with AC Milan among those considering a move for the Barcelona academy graduate.
Atletico Madrid also showed interest earlier in the transfer window, although their enthusiasm has cooled in recent weeks.
Barcelona had originally hoped to complete Casado’s transfer before 30 June so the income could be included in the previous financial year.

Instead, the club have decided to remain patient in the hope that stronger offers arrive.
The sporting department believe the midfielder could generate around €30 million through a combination of fixed and performance-related payments, particularly if the move to Saudi Arabia materialises.
Barcelona would ideally like to finalise Casado’s future before the squad returns for pre-season training on 13 July.
Although it is not considered essential, the club would prefer to avoid the midfielder reporting back for training while his transfer remains unresolved.
The coming days are therefore expected to be decisive as Casado considers whether to accept Al Hilal’s proposal or continue exploring opportunities elsewhere in Europe.
