Saudi move looking unlikely for Dortmund star Guirassy | OneFootball

Speculation remains over whether Serhou Guirassy will leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.

However, according to Bild, one option now appears to be as good as ruled out for the striker.

After exploring the Saudi Arabian market, Guirassy is now leaning towards staying in top-level European football, the report claims.

There are several reasons for this, one of them being that Saudi clubs are no longer investing the same sums as they did a few years ago.

At the same time, the Saudi Arabian transfer window does not open until July 22, while squad planning is already in full swing in Europe, and Guirassy is said to prefer having earlier clarity over his future.

Aston Villa and Fenerbahçe currently appear to be among the most likely destinations, although Dortmund have publicly stated that they want to keep the striker.

“We have no intention of letting him leave. He has proven his value to Borussia Dortmund impressively over the last two seasons,” BVB managing director for sport Lars Ricken recently said.

The 30-year-old is under contract with Dortmund until 2028.
