Jeddah’s Al Ittihad have long provided a formidable counterweight, and remain among Asia’s biggest clubs. Their current cast, including Karim Benzema, Moussa Diaby and Fabinho, keeps them a major draw.

The 2026/27 campaign will also pause from 24 December 2026 to 7 February 2027, accommodating Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
