According to Foot Mercato, the Saudi Pro League is set to launch an ambitious plan to convince Paris Saint-Germain to part ways with South Korean international Lee Kang-in (23). The French outlet writes that a “very big” offer is going to arrive from the Gulf State for Kang-in.
An unnamed Saudi Arabian club would like to make Kang-in one of the biggest earners in the league, in what can be seen as a clear indication that the league is increasingly transitioning away from its previous target of collecting stars beyond their peak to players about to enter their prime.
However, PSG have appeared reluctant to allow Kang-in to leave and all indications prior have been that they are looking to rely heavily on the midfielder in the upcoming season. The club were thought to have rejected a substantial offer from a Premier League club earlier in the window (valued at around €75 million) and refused to allow for the former Mallorca star to be part of their negotiations with Napoli for Victor Osimhen (25).
