Vitória S.C. beat Nacional 2-1 at the Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques to rise from seventh to sixth in Liga Portugal.
Juan Castillo kept the hosts level early on, saving smartly from Daniel Júnior before the break and Paulinho Bóia after the restart.
Noah Saviolo broke the deadlock in the 70th minute, driving a tight-angle finish across goal after a cut-back from substitute Tony Strata. Rodrigo Abascal doubled the lead with a low left-footed strike from Saviolo's pass (87.).
Nacional responded in the second minute of second half stoppage time when Chiheb Labidi steered in after Lucas Joao's headed lay-off.
Strata's introduction gave Vitória S.C. thrust down the right, with the full back supplying the opener off the bench. The hosts posted 56.5% possession and nine attempts. The visitors registered 14 attempts and forced three corners as they pressed late on.
Next, Vitória S.C. visit Sporting CP in the Taça da Liga semi finals. Nacional drop from 13th to 14th and host Santa Clara next.
