FC Porto have pulled off arguably the sneakiest transfer announcement so far this summer on Sunday.

Before the club's match against Atlético de Madrid (which they won 1-0), the club out of nowhere announced the signing of Dutchman Luuk de Jong on a free transfer.

The best part is, it was a complete surprise with no journalist or fan knowing about the signing. Instead, the 34-year-old simply walked out to the pitch at the Estádio do Dragão in a jersey in front of everyone, the deal already completed.

De Jong arrives from PSV Eindhoven, where he is considered a Dutch legend after eight seasons, over 300 appearances, 186 goals, 98 assists and winning five championships.

He also had stints in the Bundesliga, Premier League and LaLiga, including with Sevilla and Barcelona.

On joining Porto, De Jong told PSV fans "I now choose a different challenge, I am an adventurer. Someone who, together with his family, seeks adventure. Someone who wants to experience the culture and sport in other countries. And hopefully achieve success there as well."

"PSV is forever in my heart," his letter to fans continued. "It is my home, your fans have always supported me in good times and bad. I gave everything I had in me for you guys and the club, every game 100 percent. Thanks to your support and passion we have experienced wonderful times together!"
