Schalke 04 are hoping to give their promotion boost a lift with the signing of Moussa N’Diaye. According to HLN, the former Barcelona youngster is on the wish list of Schalke 04 and negotiations have already begun between the player and the club. Yet, his current side Anderlecht just sacked head coach Besnik Hasi. N’Diaye had lost his place under Hasi but a new head coach may think differently. However, there is little time for Anderlecht to make a decision and selling N’Diaye may well happen regardless of a new head coach.

N’Diaye came through the Barcelona academy but never made an appearance for the first team. After around 11 appearances for Barcelona’s second side, he moved to Anderlecht in 2022. The now 23-year-old from Senegal has gone on to play 102 games for Anderlecht, scoring twice and providing five assists. N’Diaye’s blistering pace has always stood out during his time at the club and there will be some that are disappointed that he might not fulfil his potential in Belgium.

However, Schalke 04 can offer the defender the chance to play in the Bundesliga next season. The side currently have a one point lead over second placed Elversberg and third placed Darmstadt. Head coach Miron Muslic will also have seen plenty of N’Diaye during his time as head coach of Cercle Brugge. The sides have already made one deal this winter, with goalkeeper Justin Heekeren swapping Schalke 04 for Anderlecht.
