Schalke 04 ‘in talks’ with Brighton over Igor Julio loan

Fussballdaten reports that Schalke 04 are in talks with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign centre-back Igor Julio on loan with an option to buy.

No agreement has been reached. The fee for the loan and the size of the purchase clause are said to be the main hurdles.

Fresh from promotion to the Bundesliga, the Royal Blues are targeting defensive reinforcements.

Brighton paid a reported €16.5 million to sign the 28-year-old from Fiorentina in 2023.

The Brazilian joined West Ham United on loan in the summer of 2025, but the spell was cut short in January after limited opportunities.
