Schalke said on Tuesday evening, 15 September that Dejan Ljubičić will be sidelined “for the foreseeable future”.
The Austrian was withdrawn in the 21st minute of the 3-1 win away to 1.FC Union Berlin last Friday evening.

Following tests by the club’s medical staff, he appears to have injured his left knee.
After next Sunday’s meeting with SV Elversberg, an extended international break follows.
The Bundesliga returns when Schalke travel to SC Freiburg on Sunday, 11 October. It remains unclear whether Ljubičić will be available by then, and he was not called up by the Austrian national team.
