Schalke to battle Everton, Ipswich and Marseille for free agent Krépin Diatta | OneFootball

Despite seemingly missing out on Facundo Buonanotte, FC Schalke 04 are continuing to try and recruit experienced players.

As FussballTransfers.com has learned, the Royal Blues are among multiple clubs interested in signing Krépin Diatta. 

Diatta's contract with Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco expired on 30 June, meaning he is a free agent and is now available on a free transfer.

However, the sides set to rival Schalke for the Senegalese international include Ipswich Town, Everton and Olympique Marseille.

It remains unknown whether the winger could be drawn to the allure of the Premier League or another top French club over the Bundesliga.

The 27-year-old has already played 19 times in the Champions League and an has impressively been capped 64 times by Senegal.

Diatta also played in the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico; and at Schalke he would be a candidate for the right wing position.
