Andreas Schjelderup has been cleared to attend the upcoming World Cup after securing a United States entry visa, ending months of uncertainty.

According to Glorioso 1904, Norway delegation lead Truls Dæhli confirmed the visa had been issued and said the Benfica winger was ready to travel, removing any barrier to his involvement.

His participation had been in doubt due to a conviction for sharing a video with sexual content involving minors, which could have complicated his entry, but the issue was resolved in time for the tournament.

He is now available for Norway’s squad at a historic edition for the Nordic nation, returning to the competition after nearly three decades. Fredrik Aursnes is also expected to be selected.

This season for Benfica, Schjelderup, valued at €20 million, has played 39 matches, 24 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 2,271 minutes he has nine goals and five assists.
