Steve Clarke resigned as Scotland head coach after their World Cup exit was confirmed by Croatia’s 2-1 win over Ghana on Saturday.
According to L'Équipe, Scotland finished third in group C behind Brazil and Morocco, with a 1-0 win over Haiti, keeping them in contention for the last 32 as one of the eight best third-placed sides.
Croatia then beat Ghana 2-1, ending that route and confirming Scotland’s elimination.
Clarke, in charge since 2019, leaves with a record of 36 wins, 12 draws and 27 defeats, the country’s best.
He had extended his contract until 2030 at the end of May, with his previous deal due to expire after the tournament.
