Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon has backed left-back Andy Robertson ahead of their World Cup qualifying playoff against Ukraine.

As they prepare for a game that decides if they will take on Wales for the playoff final to book a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, there are questions about Robertson's professionalism.

The Liverpool defender was filmed drinking a beer during his club's open top bus parade this week to celebrate the two trophies they won this past season.

Asked about Robertson, Gordon told reporters: "Yeah. Andy will be here, ready to play.

"He's played so many games in the past couple of seasons.

"I think he's one short of 120 games in two seasons or something crazy like that.

"So I think we can give him one beer and I'm sure he will be absolutely ready and flying up and down that left-hand side as he has been for the last couple of years."

He added: "No, the boys have already done that enough [joked around with Robertson about the footage]. I don't need to say anything!"
