The Tartan Army descend on Miami for a huge game as they bid to reach knockout stages for first time

Scotland face Brazil today, looking to reach the World Cup knockout phase for the first time in their history.

Steve Clarke’s men lost 1-0 to Morocco in Boston in their last game, but a 1-0 win over Haiti in the Group C opener means they can still progress through to the last 32.

Five-time winners Brazil started slowly in the group, being outplayed by Morocco in a 1-1 draw before swatting aside Haiti 3-0.

But they have yet to kick into high gear, so head coach Carlo Ancelotti has his work cut out to mastermind a deep run in the tournament.

Scotland vs Brazil is scheduled for an 11pm BST kick-off today on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

The match will take place at Miami Stadium (Hard Rock Stadium) in Florida, USA.

Scotland vs Brazil team news

There are no new injury concerns for the Tartan Army, as talisman Scott McTominay will look to make his mark on the biggest stage, after seeing a penalty appeal waved away against the Moroccans.

Clarke has some selection dilemmas: winger Ben Gannon-Doak started against Haiti and was then dropped against Morocco, but his dribbling skills can disrupt any defence.

John McGinn and Ryan Christie were seen as alternate options in central midfield, but Clarke played both against Morocco, pushing McTominay into a No10 role behind Che Adams.

Will Clarke stick or twist here?

Scotland squad: Craig Gordon, Angus Gunn, Liam Kelly, Grant Hanley, Jack Hendry, Aaron Hickey, Dom Hyam, Scott McKenna, Nathan Patterson, Anthony Ralston, Andy Robertson, John Souttar, Kieran Tierney, Ryan Christie, Findlay Curtis, Lewis Ferguson, Ben Gannon-Doak, Tyler Fletcher, John McGinn, Kenny McLean, Scott McTominay. Che Adams, Lyndon Dykes, George Hirst, Lawrence Shankland, Ross Stewart

Neymar has been confirmed as available for this game by Ancelotti after missing the first two for Brazil, but the Italian will be more concerned by the hamstring injury picked up by Barcelona forward Raphinha, with reports suggesting he’ll miss out.

Matheus Cunha’s double against Haiti vindicated Ancelotti’s decision to drop Brentford striker Igor Thiago after an ineffectual display against Morocco.

Brazil squad: Alisson Becker, Ederson, Weverton, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhaes, Gleison Bremer, Leo Pereira, Roger Ibanez, Wesley Franca, Danilo, Alex Sandro, Douglas Santos, Casemiro, Bruno Guimaraes, Fabinho, Danilo, Lucas Paqueta, Vinicius Jr, Raphinha, Matheus Cunha, Luiz Henrique, Gabriel Martinelli, Neymar, Endrick, Rayan, Igor Thiago

Scotland vs Brazil prediction

Brazil have looked shaky so far, being outplayed by Morocco and appearing unconvincing against Haiti, but they have a lot of quality in the form of Vinicius Jr and Matheus Cunha, among others.

I think Scotland could be dumped out by a convincing win for Brazil, who finally announce themselves at this tournament.

Brazil to win, 3-0.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Scotland wins: 0

Brazil wins: 8

Draws: 2
