Second-placed Rangers are 7/4 and sit two points clear of defending champions Celtic 2/1 who have played a game fewer than the teams above them.

In what could be a huge weekend for the title race, Celtic travel to Rangers for an Old Firm derby this Sunday. You can read an in-depth betting preview of the match, with our experts' best bets, later this week.

Prior to that, Hearts can put distance between themselves and their rivals by beating eighth-placed Aberdeen on Saturday.

You have to go back to 1985 for the last time a team other than Celtic or Rangers won the Scottish title. That year, it was Sir Alex Ferguson's Aberdeen who showed there was more to football north of the border than the Old Firm.

Aberdeen were runners-up to Celtic in 2018 but since then the big two have dominated, with Celtic winning six titles to Rangers' one in that period. The Bhoys have been champions for the last four seasons.

This may be the most exciting season for 40 years with Rangers changing manager, Celtic sacking two managers before giving Martin O'Neill the job until the end of the season - get the latest on who will be in charge in 2026/27 - and Hearts taking advantage by performing superbly.
