Sean Dyche is said to be under increasing pressure as Nottingham Forest battle to preserve their Premier League status. The BBC reports the manner of Friday’s 3-1 defeat at Leeds United has intensified internal scrutiny, while talkSPORT claims owner Evangelos Marinakis expected a bigger upturn under the club’s third manager of the season. Support within the club is reportedly less solid than before.

Forest missed the chance to move nine points clear of the drop when, having started level on points, they were well beaten at Elland Road. West Ham United then cut the gap to three with a 2-0 win at Burnley on Saturday.

The defeat ended a four-match unbeaten league run. Dyche noted they were two points inside the relegation zone when he arrived and are now six clear, adding he was not carried away by 3-0 wins over Liverpool and Tottenham and that the work continues until season’s end.

West Ham host Manchester United on Tuesday, which could further trim the margin or leave them level with Forest. Attention then turns to Wednesday at the City Ground, where bottom-of-the-table Wolverhampton Wanderers are the visitors.

Dyche was appointed in October after Ange Postecoglou’s 39-day reign, which followed Nuno Espirito Santo’s dismissal three games into the campaign after a behind-the-scenes fallout. Now in charge of West Ham, Nuno could yet shape his former club’s fate.
