The Seattle Sounders have acquired FC Dallas forward Jesus Ferreira, the Cascadia club announced on Wednesday.
Seattle will send $2.3 million in allocation money, an international roster spot, and winger LĂ©o ChĂș to Dallas for the U.S international.
Ferreira accrued 53 goals and 34 assists in 163 appearances with FC Dallas, landing him a semi-prominent role with the United States men's national team during Gregg Berhalter's tenure. Ferreira has 15 goals in 23 caps for his nation.
âWeâre very excited to come to an agreement to bring JesĂșs to Seattle. Heâs a player who not only brings a great deal of talent, but also complements the strengths of our existing roster,â said Sounders FC General Manager & Chief Soccer Officer Craig Waibel. âJesĂșsâ versatility allows him to operate in multiple attacking roles, giving our coaches more tactical options in different game situations.
"His creativity and movement will enhance our ability to break down defenses, and weâre confident heâll be a valuable contributor to the teamâs success moving forward.â
Reports have also indicated that Seattle could be looking to bring in Ferreira's former Dallas and USMNT teammate Paul Arriola.
