After many years in European football, Sébastien Haller is preparing to add a new chapter to his extensive career. The experienced 32-year-old striker is set to experience Japanese football after signing for Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
"I can't wait to get to know the city of Hiroshima, the club, my teammates and the fans, and to begin this new adventure with my family. I will always be humble and respectful, and I will do my best to help the club achieve its goals," he said on his arrival at the J-League side.
A product of the Auxerre academy in France, the club where he made his professional debut, Haller has represented several European sides, including FC Utrecht, Eintracht Frankfurt, West Ham United and Ajax.
In 2022/23, he moved once again to the Bundesliga, signing for Borussia Dortmund but the centre-forward spent several months away from the pitch due to a cancer diagnosis.
After that, Sébastien returned to action and added more experience in European football. Following a year at Leganés, he returned to Utrecht. Now, at 32, he is leaving to make his mark in Japan.
