SecaSports has taken Santos to court, alleging the club coerced it into waiving monies owed so directors would release Soteldo for a transfer to Fluminense.

According to ESPN, SecaSports says Santos owed R$ 515 thousand, a dispute already before the CNRD, with further commission instalments around R$ 3.8 million. The company also says the club demanded a full release and the renunciation of all disputed credits plus roughly R$ 960 thousand tied to the termination, adding it accepted due to economic vulnerability.

After that alleged forced waiver, the agents claim Santos still failed to pass on five percent of the fee, which they say had been agreed verbally. The firm is seeking the R$ 515 thousand, a further R$ 2.2 million from past intermediary work and the five percent share, excluding damages, legal fees and costs.

Santos’s legal department is awaiting developments, with the club yet to be formally served. Internally there is a view the demands are excessive, as the waiver was a condition for releasing a player still under contract.

Santos sold Soteldo to Fluminense in June last year for US$ 5.5 million, about R$ 30 million. He had renewed with the club in February last year to the end of 2028, then featured little after three thigh muscle injuries. He recorded 21 goals in 162 appearances and is the club’s third-highest foreign scorer.
