On Monday, the State Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (SEDPcD) held a technical training session for 98 Match Directors, professionals who work for the Paulista Football Federation (FPF) in the operational management of matches throughout the state.
The initiative aimed to broaden the participants’ understanding so that they could learn the best ways to welcome and accommodate people with disabilities in stadiums, starting with the 2026 São Paulo Junior Football Cup.
This activity is the result of a partnership between the Secretariat and the FPF. On one hand, SEDPcD conducts training to present and guide best practices in serving people with disabilities. On the other, the FPF is joining the 2025 Inclusive Turnaround, scheduled for December 1 to 7, by providing tickets for matches of the São Paulo Junior Women’s Football Cup to people with disabilities.

“There are many challenges involved in this initiative, especially because many structures were built in the last century. But the idea is to achieve a level of quality in welcoming people that maintains the greatness of São Paulo football and inspires other teams across the country. The most important thing is to provide respectful service that takes individual needs into account and promotes the autonomy of each person present in the stadium, so that everyone feels at home,” said Secretary Marcos da Costa.
Mauro Silva, vice president of the Paulista Football Federation, celebrated and thanked the partnership, saying it is a very significant project to ensure inclusion in stadiums, and fundamental to the organization and reputation of football as an accessible sport.
The presentation of the content was led by Edílson Andrade, pedagogical coordinator of the School of Inclusion, and Caroline Reis, coordinator of the Todas in-Rede program, in the SEDPcD auditorium, located at the Memorial da América Latina.
