Self-entitled arrogance from Arsenal fans – Yet again

This week has seen the season’s first success in a home ballot for us as Newcastle United members.

Not our first game of the season, as we were in the Putney End at Fulham.

As disappointing as the result was, at least we had got into the ground and seen our team play live.

Previously, I had received emails from the club with the title BALLOT RESULT, only to then read on and be told I was unsuccessful.

However, when reading on, this latest email had the line SELECT YOUR SEAT.

I couldn’t believe it, we were in and I now had twenty four hours to wait before I could select our seats for the Arsenal match.

The ability to select your seats, along with all the other successful Newcastle United members, would open at 12.30pm and obviously I wanted to try and be first in the queue to bag seats as close to the action as possible.

Small problem.

At exactly that time I will have twenty 15 year olds in front of me. So I will have to log on half an hour late and hope for the best.

One o’clock arrives and I have only had to threaten daft Henry once with the removal of his teeth, the eight inch pliers at hand. No need to call social services this is just banter and Henry is a future “Bermondsey Boy”.

I eventually get in to the website and go to the area we want, Level Seven balcony seats. Unfortunately, it looks like any available seats have being bought, so decide to look elsewhere. Then as if by magic, two previously unavailable seats become available, turning from grey to bright blue and I bag myself and the daft lad two front row balcony seats.

Lunchtime arrives and I tell two colleagues I have secured two seats in this latest Newcastle United match ballot. They are both big Arsenal fans and one even goes home and away. I get these messages from them.

Self-entitled arrogance off Arsenal fans, just another one of the reasons I dislike the Gunners and their support.

In contrast this is how one of my mates, a member of the Toon Army (Tonali Wetherspoons division) responded.

The two different whatsapp conversations speak volumes.

Let us hope my mate is right and Newcastle United do put one over on them and we see their manager having another embarrassing breakdown on live TV.

For me, the Fulham defeat was not a waste of money.
