Semenyo hails Cherki as ‘one of the world’s best’ after dazzling display in Man City’s 4-0 over Liverpool | OneFootball

Antoine Semenyo believes Manchester City teammate Rayan Cherki is already 'one of the world's best' players.

Cherki has been a massive hit since signing for the Citizens from Lyon last summer. The Frenchman continued an impressive debut campaign with a brilliant performance in Manchester City's 4-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday.

The Frenchman recorded his 12th assist of the campaign to tee up Semenyo, as City breezed into theFA Cup quarter-finals.

The duo also linked up for City's second goal, as Cherki freed Semenyo to cross for Erling Haaland to head home.

Semenyo has been hugely impressed by Cherki since his own arrival at the Etihad in January. He believes the 22-year-old is already among the best players on the planet and said Cherki is capable of 'anything' with the ball at his feet.

“Cherki’s one of the world’s best. He can literally do anything with the ball, he makes my life easy,"Semenyo said of his teammate.

“I remember my first day in training, some of the skills he was pulling up… I thought, What kind of player is he?’ He’s a top player."

City's convincing win moved Pep Guardiola's side into theFA Cup semi-finals. After winning the League Cup last month, Semenyo said he is hopeful more trophies will arrive before the season's end.

“That's why I signed for Man City, I want to be competing for all trophies," he added.
