A French senator has tabled an amendment linked to administrative stadium bans, as AS Saint-Étienne’s ultras await a ruling on possible dissolution.

According to L'Équipe, Pierre-Jean Rochette (LIRT) has lodged the proposal for the Senate’s examination of Laurent Nunez’s RIPOST bill, whose article four covers supporter stadium bans.

The move echoes the situation facing the club’s Magic Fans and Green Angels groups, with a dissolution procedure launched by the Interior Ministry a few weeks ago.

Both groups were heard on 13 April by the National Consultative Commission for the Prevention of Violence at Sporting Events, and they still do not know their fate.

Rochette’s amendment would require the commission to publish a reasoned opinion within seven days, aiming to calm administrative dissolution procedures, add transparency, and strengthen acceptance of the minister’s final decision.
