Senegal, France's first World Cup opponents, have trimmed their squad to 26. According to L'Équipe, head coach Pape Thiaw removed Moustapha Mbow and Ilay Camara from the initial 28.

The 21 May list was only a draft, and this should form his final selection. No other changes have been made. Pape Gueye and Sadio Mané remain included, as do Moussa Niakhaté and Lamine Camara.

The update comes amid a turbulent backdrop. Thiaw's contract expired in February and has not been renewed, and there has been debate around the scheduling of friendlies.

On Sunday, Senegal were beaten 3-2 by the United States despite a Sadio Mané brace.

Before meeting France on 16 June at 21:00, they will face Saudi Arabia in San Antonio, Texas.
